Hello and welcome!

I'm Elizabeth Cameron, and I'm so delighted you're here.

As a dedicated educator, performer, wife, and mom, I pour my passion into helping people like you discover the joy and power of vocal and dramatic expression through music. After over 25 years of combined private studio and university teaching, I'm thrilled to dedicate myself fully to cultivating voices, inspiring musicians, and connecting communities right here with you.

My Mission

It is my mission to provide a nurturing environment dedicated to unlocking the creative potential of artists at every age and stage. To connect deeply with every individual, providing a safe space to cultivate artistic growth, inspire musical passion, and foster joyful connections, empowering every voice from the curious beginner to the seasoned professional in my supportive community.

Your Journey, My Commitment

I believe every student holds incredible potential, and my biggest strength is the personal commitment I bring to your unique journey.  Just like no two plants are the same, no two students are either. You have a unique voice, individual dreams, and your own way of learning, and I celebrate that! My approach blends structured expertise with a warm, encouraging, and highly individualized style.  I'll always move at your pace, focusing on what helps you thrive in both song and dramatic presentation.

Whether you dream of taking the stage, finding confidence in your speaking voice, enhancing your dramatic interpretation, or simply exploring a new passion, my studio is designed for your success. I work across a wide spectrum of ages and abilities—from the youngest musicians taking their first playful steps, to teens finding their unique vocal and dramatic voice, to adults rediscovering a lifelong passion or refining their professional craft.

My Background & Artistic Path

With a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Michigan, a Master of Music degree from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, and Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees from Lawrence University, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my studio. My 15 years of university teaching experience includes faculty positions at Central Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, Western Michigan University, and the University of Michigan, ensuring you receive top-tier, informed guidance rooted in proven pedagogical methods.

As Soprano Elizabeth Cameron, I've enjoyed a versatile performing career on the operatic stage in roles such as Musetta in La Bohème and Despina in Così fan tutte, as well as Miss Wordsworth in Britten's Albert Herring. My career also includes serving as a concert soloist and co-founder of Duo Bella. I was also the soprano soloist with Spectrum Brass, an award-winning ensemble featuring some of the country's top brass players, with whom I toured  states and can be heard on their album, "Rhapsody," celebrating the music of George Gershwin. This album notably features Van Cliburn Medalist, Aviram Reichert. My robust theatrical background, including stage roles like Anna in the stage adaptation of Anna Karenina and an appearance on NBC's Law and Order, profoundly enriches every vocal and dramatic lesson. Additionally, I've served as a vocal and musical director for various theatrical productions, deepening my understanding of performance from a holistic perspective. This unique blend of academic rigor and extensive real-world performance experience means I truly understand the demands and joys of the artist's path, bringing a comprehensive perspective to our work together.

Some of my students have gone on to perform on Broadway and at prestigious venues such as the Metropolitan Opera, Washington National Opera, and on National Tours (including Tootsie and Beetlejuice).  My students have also attended institutions like The Juilliard School, performed  on cruise ships,  been cruise directors, and performed at renowned regional theaters.

Above all, I'm a dedicated mama and wife to my beautiful family in Kalamazoo, MI, who finds profound fulfillment in teaching, nurturing, and building confidence in artists of all ages and abilities.
